Jeremiah
Debut graphic novel, launched at the Perth Comic Arts Festival in July 2025. Created between December 2023 - June 2025. 132 pages.Jeremiah: a name that's sort of religious, sort of rockstar.Jeremiah Haines is only seven years old when his younger brother suddenly passes away in a car crash. He's left under the close eye of his mother, Rosa, a retired actress who's now an evangelical pastor. Contained inside the megachurch his parents run, Jeremiah realises early on that he's different – and at heart, an artist. Unsure where to release his energy, he rebels against his teachers, church youth leaders, and most of all, parents. As the church grows, Rosa begins to reveal her narcissism, and Jeremiah starts uncovering his religious trauma. Having discovered alt rock and body mods, and forming forbidden friendships, Jeremiah continues to feign his independence, asking the questions he's been too afraid to ask. But Rosa isn't ready to let him go just yet.Set against the backdrop of sunny Boorloo, this fictional memoir follows a young punk musician as he creates a place for himself as an artist, and lives up to his name. True to the DIY ethos, Jeremiah's story is illustrated with biro pens, permanent markers, and highlighters – which work to portray the South-West Australian atmosphere as defined by the sun.“If you enjoy beautiful art and writing, punk rock, autobio, laughter, tragedy... you WILL buy this comic. Especially if you live in Perth.” – Jorden Allen-Barr, author of Manta

What Pavement (the band) taught me about my ADHD and being silly
An eight-page comic, done in a DIY-fanzine inspired style, that details my discovery of the band Pavement at the same time I was diagnosed with ADHD. It recounts how I let myself hyperfixate on the band, embracing the quirks of my newly discovered ADHD.
This comic was temporarily stocked at Junction Records.

ABOUT
Frankie is a comic artist based in the northern suburbs of Boorloo (Perth). They have a lifelong interest in representing themselves with characters, whether that be by writing about them, or drawing them, or both at the same time. In 2022, they graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Creative Writing and minoring in Illustration. They have always been inspired by rock music, and nowadays, they enjoy creating stories under a DIY punk ethos, using traditional media to illustrate them. When not working on a comic, Frankie can be found at op shops, record stores, concerts, roller derby training, home working on a DIY fashion project, or their day-to-day job at a school library.
